I went to a wedding yesterday.
Or, should I say, the wedding came to me.

During the past six months, there have been many trying changes in all our lives, but sometimes rough days can be interrupted by wondrous experiences.

I received an invitation via WhatsApp to go to a Zoom meeting at 12:30 pm. I was curious as to what this was all about until I saw who it came from and realized the wedding of a dear friend’s daughter was going to take place in a matter of hours. This wedding had originally been planned to be held in a beautiful castle in Italy.

Then, Covid-19 struck.

So, how do you switch gears from family and friends traveling to Italy from all over the world to something more manageable for everyone during these times?

Zoom it!!!!!

In case you aren’t familiar with Zoom, it is a powerful video conferencing software that has caught fire over the past six months as a tool for meetings and chats of all kinds.

The only hic-up I had was the time was 12:30 pm California time and I’m on the East coast. So, I came back to the meeting at 3:30 pm and logged in with about 60 other online guests.

What a pleasant surprise to witness the wedding of two wonderful people. And, I didn’t even need to put on a suit!

The moral to this for me is that you can overcome any obstacle with creative ingenuity and these days with some powerful software!
