All The Presidents Men Movie PosterIn the 1970s, I had the privilege of serving as an art director at Seiniger and Associates, where we were entrusted with creating marketing campaigns for some of the most memorable films of the era. Among them were Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and All the President’s Men—both featuring the extraordinary talent of Robert Redford.

With the news of his recent passing, I’ve been reflecting on just how much of an impact his work had—not only on audiences, but on all of us who were fortunate enough to contribute to the way those films were presented to the world. At the time, we were simply focused on the craft of design and storytelling through imagery; we didn’t fully grasp that what we were helping to create would become enduring pieces of film history.

I vividly remember visiting the set of All the President’s Men, where a soundstage had been transformed into a meticulous recreation of The Washington Post newsroom.

It was a testament to the authenticity and attention to detail that matched the seriousness of the story—and Robert Redford’s performance carried that same integrity and conviction.
