HOW DO PHOTOVOLTAIC PANELS WORK? |
| Sunlight hits the solar panel and is absorbed by the silicon semi conducting material. This causes electrons to be knocked loose from their atoms, allowing them to flow through the material to produce DC electricity. The DC electricity from the array of solar panels goes through an inverter and is changed into AC electricity that can be used in your home. |
WHAT ABOUT MAINTENANCE? |
The nature of the PV cell means there is little or no maintenance required and there are no moving parts; this means that a typical PV cell lasts up to 40 years with no work besides an annual cleaning |

 Installation typically takes about 2 days. Your HIK project manager will help you through the entire process. HIK will complete and submit rebate and incentive forms and local permitting applications. After the permitting and rebates have been approved your HIK professionals will schedule an installation date and order your system.Upon completion HIK will make sure you're familiar with your new system and your owner's manual. HIK will schedule all building code inspections. |
